I recently upgaded my RNG150 boxes to the XID boxes (got 1 XID-C and 1 XID-P).  I upgraded since the RNG150 boxes are painfully slow with tons of lag almost to the point of unusable IMO.  It also couldn't pause live TV which is important to us.

The good news: The XID boxes is very fast and usability is greatly improved.

The bad news: When I set the XID box to 1080p, it works just fine UNTIL I turn off the device connected to the other end of the HDMI cable (TV and or Receiver).   When I turn those back on, they will not sync properly to the HDMI signal coming out of the XID box (sound or video artifacts or just an overall "No Signal).   Unplugging and replugging cables does not fix it.  The ONLY thing that fixes it is pressing the power button on the XID to put it in low power mode and then pressing it again to wake it up.  It will then work flawlessly until the next time I power my system down.   Unfortunately the XID doesn't ever power down by the remote otherwise this would be a non-issue

I have tried both XID boxes.  I have tried various cables that work fine for my XBOX, my X1 DVR, etc in 1080p.  I have tried connecting direct to TV, direct to receiver.  No matter what, same problem so  I am convinced it is not the cables or the receiver/TV since the DVR box and old RNG150 boxes work just fine in 1080p as well as other 1080p sources.

1080i and 720p doesn't have this problem at all.

Any ideas or similar experiences?  Should I check into availability of an XG2 box for this room?

Thanks!

Dave
