feature or bug I don't know, but it is caused by hitting record from a search. look in the guide for the next episode date/time/channel. Using the priority list, find the series and move cursor over it (do not hit OK button) and press the "D" (delete) key and cancel the series. then, using the guide navigate to the channel first, day of week (>> key) and then to the hour and put the highlight on the episode. Press the record button select series and any special start stop changes. It will say <name of network letters> only. You should not get the duplicate SD then.
