You cannot say that just because it hasn't happened to you. I have had it happen plenty of times where I had a show scheduled on both my DVR and Cloud DVR, which eventually disappeared from the Cloud DVR schedule before the recording date. Ended up giving me a mismatch between the physical DVR and the Cloud DVR, such as happening to the OP.
I hear ya, but i'm guessing that the entry MoCA reflector/low pass filter is missing so a neighbor possibly is seeing recordings and deleting them etc (would remove from cloud, too). The cloud DVR is not going to miss a recording as it is remote and 'always' on line (power backups etc and there are as far as I know only 2 sites that handle the cloud DVR and x1 accounts other than the small areas not yet upgraded to cloud DVR (their headend is till local or in process of being relocated)).
