the xiD can be either used as a stand alone DTA (digital Transport Adapter) or as a companion set top box for the x1 entertainment system. The xiD has a coax connector that can be directly connected to the coax antenna in connector on the television. It also has an HDMI connector port that can be attached to your surround sound system receiver or television if either has an input port available. You can call 800-Comcast and select billing to verify the type of service you have subscribed to as well as the equipment on your account.
