you might want to check your laptop's wifi settings to be sure it is connected to your 'home' SSID name radio as any other will cause that 'out of home' message. If you have a smart device that works you can check the wifi that it is connected to and verify that the home's laptop is connected to that working (on the smart device) SSID.

 

example: your tablet is connected to "HOME-xxxx" format SSID or if you have your own router the SSID you selected when setting it up. If you connect to an SSID of xfinitywifi it will cause the app to believe you are outside of the home (not on your home network).
