first check the 'priority' settings for each recording and be sure it states the exact channel you wish to record and that it says 'new episodes only'. If you don't have exact channel for 'what to record' note the next episode so you can find it on the channel listings grid and delete the entry from priority list. Then navigate to the next episode in the guide and hit the record button and make a new series recording entry.
note that if an episode entry in the guide does not say anything (no 'new' no 'repeat') that it is treated as new.
