the feature now works universally on recordings, even if it is a 'hot' recording (on TV land for example press record and it will record 1-3 minutes past the end of the on-screen at the time episode. The exception for this autopadding is that if all tuners are in use the autopad is skipped. You can maximize your available tuners by verifying the equipment in use and requesting help here on the forum.

Edit: adding to  's post the 'autopad' feature has no effect or not the same effect on the cloud DVR at this time. I manually pad regular recordings and hot recordings get padded because that feature setting is on for my system.
