I just installed my new Xfinity Wireless and Cable TV set-up today

Wireless is up and running perfectly on both my laptop and cell phone.

I have the cable box all set-up and plugged in correctly-all connections are secure and in the right place.

A blue light on my cable box appears and begins to slowly blink

Then a message pops up on my TV that reads...

Welcome...

Powering up, this may take a few moments.

 

Then the blue light on the cable box disappears and my TV screen goes black.

This repeats itself again and again.

 

I have checked the power supply and outlets and I have rechecked all of the coax cables. I have one splitter that splits the cable source from my wall to my modem and to the cable box. Only 1 TV in use in my home and one laptop.

 

I called and they are sending a tech out but it will not be for a few days.

I find it hard to believe that I need an amp with only 2 devices running.

Is that the companion (small and no clock) set top box or the DVR (has a clock)?
