I wonder if there is a way to determine the exact total hours of HD programming Xfinity boxes can record?

Our old Comcast setop box could only do about 12 hours.

When we upgraded to Xfinity X1 box, now it can do way over 100 hours of HD. And so we never come up against space limitations.

It would be nice to have a way to know how many hours the X1 box can store, and how much is already used as storage and how much space remains.

some locations have already converted to the more efficient mpeg4 format for storage. After that the effective local DVR space increases as the files are much smaller. With mpeg4 the HD hour takes up approximately the same space as an mpeg2 encoded SD channel for the same hour. Last I read is that local channels 'remain' mpeg2. I'm hopeful that Comcast will give us more hours as an option where the cloud increases in size on a paid amount 'more' per month and then can store programs that the local DVR may not have room to store. (Hope it is not more than $5/month more for an extra 60 hours on the cloud). <fingers crossed>
