After entering our account and phone number we are getting a message that says XRE-00256. We called tech support and the rep restarted the box but that did nothing. Another rep was suppose to call later in the evening, but that didn't happen.... anyone know how to resolve this???

have you been able to use the xfinity myAccount app? if so, check under the TV tab to see that that new piece of equipment is listed (picture and serial number). If not, contact 877-896-8678 and explain the problem. They can activate it and send entitlements (telling the box what you pay to be able to receive).
