it is paying the producer/distributor for the rerun not comcast. The previous few years the 'stacking' (episodes available for free on-demand viewing) was set to a rolling last+age) that limited the episodes available to us to watch. The coming year's shows have seen a forced change to allow the entire current season to be 'stacked' but age off shortly after season ends. This is part of how the money flows to the distributors/producers that allows them to pay for the shows you watch.
