I was under the impression the hd codes would control both the hdmi and component ports...is that correct? If they do it seems the hdmi port just died. My wife is going to go ahead and swap boxes today so hopefully once I go through the initial box setup everything will be right with the world again
component handles HD signals and is no difference in picture detail provided than HDMI data streams other than the stream is larger due to how it is 'transmitted'. With component hookup you must provide a path for the audio signal.
