My X1 DVR died, so I had it replaced. I was told my recordings were in the cloud and would transfer over. That appeared to be true the first day that I set it up, as I could see them all listed. I didn't try to play them, though. About 36 hours later, I looked again, and all recordings older than a couple of months or so were gone. Some of them were listed in the TV Remote app under DVR manager, but when I used that app to try to play them on the TV, I got an error message. I called TV support and was told that I should be able to watch them on the app or the website, but not on my TV. But when I went to the regular TV app, the program listing was the same as on the TV and didn't include any of the older recordings. At that point, TV support switched me to app support. I explained the situation to app support, who said "yeah, that happens all the time. 90% of the time when customers get a new DVR, the recordings disappear and there's nothing we can do about it." Any help available? Not a very meaningful cloud.

As another paying customer, I feel your 'pain'. The cloud DVR recordings since mid-June 2016 can be played back on the X1 set top boxes. Those before that time are available only on desk/laptop computers as well as compatible smart apple and android devices. Another limitation of the cloud DVR is that it will contain only the latest 60 hours of recordings. I hope you find most of your missing recordings available in on-demand.
