Hello,

I have played and  played with this in the past and I can't seem to get an answer, Chat takes too long and often too many "how are you" "happy new year" I want straight to the subject answers.

Ok, so here it is.

I have triple play plan, TV/Voice/Internet

I have total of 4 boxes, two are the very small ones that tuck behind the TVs (living room, guest room)

I have one older box in the master bedroom.

I have the X1 in my main movie watching area.

I cannot for the life of me get parental controls set. I have children, nieces & nephews constantly at the house.

I get charged so many fees for on demand and PPV and in the past Adult, I fixed the adult somehow online, but it seems that any change I make has to be for all TVs/boxes. Why can't I just make independant changes per box?

YEs, I know that I can, here is the problem.

I have set up PIN# on each box and different PIN# for purchase and for ratings and the child zone enabled and everything I could think of. The problem is that my nieces or nephews can simply go to any TV with any remote control and hit "PIN RESET" then they can make their own PIN# or just use it without a PIN.

KIds these days are really fast, I can't/wont keep on paying up to $25 per movie that is purchased or $5.99 for rentals. I never ever had this problem with DISH. I love the X1 and I love my internet and speed.

Why oh why can't I just make the changes to the devices online like the users are set up? It should be that simply.

For instance, User #1 (no pin# full access), User #2 (Pin# and limited access), User#3, (Kids only, PIN# to purchase)

Everytime I think I am getting somewhere or changing something online, it says the changes that I am making are "for this device only" what good does that do me when I need to make changes on the other devices?

If I could simply "lock" with a PIN#, then my niece or nephew would have to come to me for ordering a movie and I could enter my PIN# for them to rent the one movie.

I am hoping for some real clarification and also hoping that this message gets through to technical support and that the programers and tech support can maybe make these changes, I am very busy and put this off for a long time hoping that it would get changed, everything seems to be getting changed and updated for the better. I do notice that some screens that show examples look different than my X1 screen, am I maybe missing a firmware update?

Please help.

Thanks,

MJ7205

Hi, another customer here. If you have Parental Control PIN set, how are they getting into the menu as they have to enter that PIN to see the reset option?  You can go into settings (gear) >> Comcast Labs and turn on child proof remote option too that would turn off children's access to the X1 set top box functions completely, yet an adult can unlock the remote to use and lock it again. I'd suggest turning on 'purchase PIN' option as well.
